On December 7th, 2024 and April 26th, 2025, KHFSS members has participated in our biannual U.S. National Arboretum cleanup at Washington, D.C. During these services, our volunteers and their families rolled up their sleeves to take care of the Korean Hillside of the arboretum.

On each of our visits, the Asian collections section is often accumulated with dead leaves and branches, as well as weeds that could potentially harm the Korean plant species. Our members have worked together to keep the Korean hillside tidy and alive, gathering foliage, pruning trees, and removing litter with their hands.

Following the cleanup, we enjoyed a traditional Korean meal with the arboretum staff members, cherishing moments of connection and gratitude. We concluded our cleanup by reaffirming our commitment to preserving the cultural and ecological value of the Korean Hillside within the arboretum.
