KHFSS has a tradition of cleaning up the Korean Hillside of the U.S National Arboretum once in the winter and once in the spring. On December 10, 2022, members and their parents gathered to take care of the portion dedicated to Korea. Winter clean ups take advantage of the dormant trees and shrubs to trim them down without harming the plant and prepares the plants to grow when spring comes. Trimming plants and raking excess foliage from the baren trees, our members put hard work to help our part of the arboretum be in its best shape.

On April 22, 2023, our members including those who recently joined, put strenuous work to make the garden a better place for the plants to grow. Trimming dead branches, pulling weeds, and removing overgrown vines, we enjoyed the greenery and learned how to take care of in the garden in spring.
