The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of all people around the world, including our community. Although our organization normally picks projects to spread culture, we also choose service projects within our community. Back in October, our members were thinking about how to help people who had little access to essential items to help them during the winter but still stay safe during the pandemic.
Low-income workers need to continue working in these troubling times, with most of them having to travel to their workplace every day and not enjoy the benefits of working from home. Hence, KHFSS decided to support the low-income workers in our community by donating essential goods to stay safe against the coronavirus. Members of KHFSS gathered winter essentials, such as clothing and blankets, hand sanitizers, masks, and handmade mask hangers at home.

On October 10, KHFSS transported these goods to the Good Spoon Foundation, the foundation that decided to help us deliver the supplies to the people in need. In the end, we were able to donate over 200 masks and over 100 other goods. Through this experience, we were able to find a way to reach out and support the communities in need of help during this pandemic.
